The Hall Closet
As you know we do about 359,132,010 crafts a week but lately
our art supply storage situation was looking like a work of art itself.
Before:
This space started as a closet that was transformed into a
hidden bookcase for me. Without kids it might have stood a fighting chance to shelf
my vampire fiction novels but soon this space became a catch-all.
This weekend it was reorganized to a more functional space.
Some things were tossed out; others stayed but were sorted and labeled in bins.
I recruited Matthew to test each art bin to make sure he could reach and open
them all on his own. Room was saved for future art projects and supplies.
After:
My book collection, the original inspiration for this closet, is now crammed onto the first two shelves of it (I think that I expected that to happen eventually.).

Thankful II
Last year no one except Bob and I knew that I was pregnant at
Thanksgiving. We did not even know if it was going to be a girl or a boy then! The
year went by “quick-a-ly” as Matthew would put it.
For Thanksgiving Sammy wore the pinkest of little
dresses and enjoyed the day being passed from one set of arms to
another.
Matthew may be too big to sit on laps this year but he enjoyed the
day playing football and eating his favorite candy,
M&M's.

Thankful
Taking a trip down blog memory lane. This was originally published on Friday, November 27, 2009 as a post called Thankful II
Yesterday was Thanksgiving. We
celebrated by baking, visiting family, and mostly spending time together. There
was so much that I was, and still am, thankful for.
Chocolate trifle. In the morning, Matthew helped me bake and put together a chocolate trifle to bring to dinner at his great grandparent’s house later on. We layered chocolate cake, whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, brownies, chocolate pudding, more mini chocolate chips and whipped cream, topped off with peanut butter cup crumbs.
Painted hand turkey cards. We made these to give to family.

Backyard football games. Watching Bob and his brothers teach the next generation, aka Matthew, the standing tradition of playing football on Thanksgiving was enjoyable.
Matthew’s scorching eyes during his
“concert”. When his great aunt Carolyn nodded
off during Matthew’s playing of the out-of-tune organ, he stopped to give her a
piercing look. Only when she assured him that she was still listening did he
continue to bang on the keys.
Rudolf, the Red Nose Reindeer. After a delicious turkey meal and day of fun, Matthew, Bob, and I watched the movie together before bed.
